2018 U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Continuum of Care Program Funding Competition is Open!
HUD has released the 2018 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) to open the competition (application period) for its CoC Program funds, CFDA 14.267. Applications can include new projects and renewal projects, as described below. For more information: be sure you are subscribed to the HOME Coalition email mailing list. TIMELINE FOR SUBMISSION OF PROJECT APPLICATIONS TO THE HOME COALITION is August. 10, 2018.
NEW PROJECT APPLICATIONS: The HOME Coalition can consider for funding one or more new projects (which are called Bonus projects) as follows:
REALLOCATION PROJECTS: Additional new projects may be applied for if the CoC makes additional funds available through reallocation, though no reallocation funds are anticipated for the 2018 competition.
RENEWAL PROJECT APPLICATIONS: The HOME Coalition will accept renewal project applications for amounts specified on the approved 2018 Grant Inventory Worksheet. Renewal applicants have been provided a copy of the worksheet by email to the project director.
Q AND A SESSION will be held from 9 am to 10 am before the upcoming HOME Coalition quarterly membership meeting July 18, 2018, at the office of the United Way of Northeast Louisiana, 1201 Hudson Lane, Monroe. You do not have to attend the session to submit an application. Questions and answers from the session will be posted online.

PUBLIC COMMENT INVITED: The HOME Coalition is committed to a transparent and inclusive application process free of conflict of interest for the local competition for CoC Program funds. Thus, public comment is invited about a proposed change to the HOME Coalition’s policy outlining the scoring and ranking process for project applications submitted as part of the CoC’s local competition for HUD CoC Program funds. Please review the draft revised policy (new text in bold) as well as the proposed score sheets for this year’s new and renewal project applications. Please submit comments via email to homecoalition@gmail.com no later than Friday July 27th. You may also offer comments during the July 18, 2018 public HOME Coalition Membership Meeting, to be held 10:30 am to 11:45 am at the offices of United Way of NELA, 1201 Hudson Lane, Monroe. Comments will be posted publicly on this website.

The HOME Coalition of Northeast Louisiana (formal name: Northeast Louisiana Housing and Supportive Services Corp.) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that is a coalition of nonprofits, government agencies, faith-based groups, businesses, individuals, and others concerned with homelessness in NELA. Group members, from the 12 parishes of NELA, coordinate our area’s response to homelessness by providing a system of housing and services for those who are or are at risk of becoming homeless. The group also represents our area’s needs on a statewide and national basis, bringing attention and funding toward our ultimate goal: a NELA free of homelessness where all people feel safe and valued.
